About the artist
Susanna Brunetti graduated from Central Saint Martins, London in 2018 with an MA in Contemporary Photography. She obtained her BA in Photography from Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan.
About the work
'Brunetti's practice started with the sole use of photography which aimed to question the idea of illusion in visual perception which ended up in an interrogation of the very idea of the image. Later she started experimenting with different means from video installation like in the work Corrupt(2017), performance, sculpture and so on. Present in her practice are also references to the female body, self-oppression and fear like in the metal sculpture Emerge (2018). Her approach can be considered quite minimalistic and very much connected to an interrogation of what it means to be an artist and an individual of this society. Among her achievements, her participation in Tate Exchange and the recent exhibition 'What we can make an become' where she showed Continuous Entanglement (2018) at the Exposed Arts Projects gallery.'
