About the artist
Jolanda Todt (1987/Freiburg) studied graphic design (B.A.) at Hochschule Mainz and with Stefan Sagmeister in New York. Later she started her M.A. in Fine Arts with Swetlana Davis-Heger at the Art Academy of Umea (SE) and graduated at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin in 2017. At Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin she studied Spatial Strategies with Alice Creischer and Andreas Siekmann among others.
In her artistic practice, she explores subjectivities in relation to an assumed objectivity, researching how places merge with stories, and how narratives are constructed in a variety of ways including oral history, archival documents and photography. She works with a range of media books, film, performance, photographs and installation.
Her work GE-SCHICHTE_N recently won the Mart Stam Preis and will be exhibited in Kunstraum Bethanien in June 2018.
