About the work
I work with video and installation, splicing together and distorting found and recorded media, narratives of fiction and reality, serious play and humour, whilst revealing my own manipulation and culpability within the process of their construction. I’m specifically interested in how the work can reject disembodied or ubiquitous perspectives, an illusion I feel is very seductive, especially in digital culture. Instead, my work evolves from a place of wanting to be explicit about the situatedness of the different actors within the videos, how they connect with each other in complicated ways and their positions together and apart within the material world. In my work the physical camera, and the bodies, sites and contexts in relation to it, are an ever-present concern.
