About the work
In Untitled 1, 2, 3, and 4 I focused on two-dimensionality, which I consider as the death of sculpture. In particular with Untitled 1 and 2 I analyze how relief aims to reach pictorial effects with sculptural means. As the ultimate goal of relief is a pictorial surface, I pull and melt it to define its volumetric nature through its negation.
In Untitled 3 and 4 I consider the wall as the end of every possible three-dimensional representation. Yet the wall, in spite of its flatness and its being nondescript, hides symbolically the truth on which every representation is based.
