About the work
By constantly travelling the world, Carla Benzing finds inspiration in different cultures and ways of living. Her work is defined by the central and recurrent subject of the observation of humans and their features, both individuals and society at large, with a focus on her own generation. Especially fascinated by new technologies, Carla’s work is often concerned with how our relation to technology is developing. Her work process includes spontaneous documentation, collection and curation of subjects she comes across, as well as conceptual design and staging of her own visions. The result of this intuitive mode of creation shall embrace the present and illustrate a perspective on how we live, what we expect and how we present ourselves.
