About the work
With contemporary technology, possibilities to create images are limitless. But how can we tell if an image is authentic ? With the sophistication of programs that make and alter images it is now possible to create from our imagination. Images have the power to alter political agenda, scientific beliefs and even history. The fact that the line between what is real and what is fake is continuously blurred, means that what we see could be said to be real when it is not. How can we tell the nature of the image from just looking at it?
Arthur questions both the nature of the image and the belief of its spectator. The project #satellite? is a series of ambiguous images challenging those who try to gives a definition to what they see. What is actually depicted in these images? Will we ever know what is fake and what is real?Text provided by Arthur Trombetta
